What Our Customers say
Times Change, it seems not so long ago that my cruising vest was an integral part of my gear to help me with my fieldwork. Now that I have jumped into the high tech world and using my I-pad in my daily work, my new chest pack has become an indispensable part of my field gear. Comfortable and well made it makes my fieldwork easier and actually safer.

The Tablet-EX-Gear chest pack is now an integral part of my field gear. All of my work essentials can be safely stored and easily accessed in the compact, comfortable chest pack. Before I had this chest pack, I wore a field vest, which was heavy, bulky, and my gadgets and tools were not very secure or accessible. Now that we use the iPad for fieldwork, it has made my field vest that much more unacceptable. The iPad slips out of the side pocket and is hard to get to in the zippered pocket in the back. The chest pack holds my gadgets and tools so much more effectively that I even wear it in the field when I don’t need the iPad. I would recommend it to anyone who does field work.

I used in the field about two weeks ago. It worked fantastic! It was easier on my lower back than any kind of pack, was light yet stable, and everything was within my immediate reach. Normally when I’m moving around in the field I’ll drop my pack at a given point and move around a small area, come pick the pack up and move on. In this case I never took it off. Didn’t limit my movement a bit. I’ve added a pouch for a larger, survey-sized notebook on the right side of mine. I’m very happy I picked mine up at GSA. I’ll get you some photos next time I’m out

The chest packs worked out really well. I was very pleased with its performance in the field and I’m very glad that I bought one. The replacement buckle worked perfectly and was a nice, easy fix. My one recommendation for the back would be to chance the reflective material. The material that you’ve used gets very brittle when the temperature drops (it was still above freezing), and starts to chip and disintegrate. I would recommend a more pliable and cold resistant material like 3M Scotchlite. I’ve found that material similar to that holds up better than the plasticized stuff. Overall though, amazing product. The design keeps the sweat off my back far better than a cruiser vest and the fabric it’s made of is tough enough to handle being a part of a geologists toolkit. The adjustability if fantastic, and the ability to have modular add-ons is a huge plus. Thanks for making such a quality product, keep up the great work!

Being shorter (5′ 1″ and a bit), as well as female, I was skeptical that the tablet chest pack would fit my dimensions and anatomy. After testing it a few days in the field, I found it to fit very well and to be much more comfortable to wear than a cruiser vest – weight was centred, fixed, and much better supported. My iPad was much more securely stored than I could achieve in my cruiser vest and still easily accessible. For the amount of gear I carry, the perfect combination is a backpack together with the chest pack. Both integrate nicely without any pressure points. I came back and ordered one right away!

For years, I have worn a Cruise vest or Surveyor’s vest. In the silviculture survey work that I do, I have found that the vest is just plain cumbersome, uncomfortable, and way too hot. It gets caught on everything. Also, I always have a sore neck when I wear a vest. In the spring of 2013, I started wearing a Tablet-EX-Gear Cortes Chest Pack. It is way more comfortable and I am more productive because I can move faster through dense brush. Since I am paid based on my productivity, this means I am putting more $$$ in my pocket! This is why I refer to the Tablet-EX-Gear Cortes Chest Pack as the “Money Maker”.

I've been using the Cortes pack for my iPad Mini since Brian did the first prototypes. In a nutshell, I’ll never go back to my vest. The design, comfort, and freedom of movement is great, and it is far more cool than my vest in the humid Vermont summers. I love having all of my stuff right in front of me. the Cortes holds exactly the tools that I need for cruising, and I appreciate the capability to add pouches if I need to carry something extra. Finally, I can throw my Camelback on my back and they fit perfectly in conjunction. I’m very thankful that I found Tablet-Ex-Gear.
